The Specialized Electric Railway Group, affiliated with the Transportation and Urban Development Division of Moshanir Company, has successfully carried out a software based simulation of traction and traffic for an electric train with an autotransformer feeding system (25×2 kV AC).
In this simulation, a railway line of approximately 44 km between Mashhad–Golbahar–Chenaran was modeled using the bi directional autotransformer feeding technique (25×2 kV AC), considering four passenger stations along the route and a headway of four minutes for passenger trains of the specified type.
The simulation incorporated gradients, slopes, and curves along the route, train timetables, system impedance, and the electrical and mechanical specifications of the trains as input data.
The output results included key parameters such as:
• Voltage drop
• Power consumption current
• Optimal capacity of substations
• Optimal location of traction and parallel substations along the route
• Rail voltage, among other critical values
