Technical Specifications:

•    Objective: Stabilization of the unstable PC2 rock located at the highest elevation on the right abutment of Dez Dam, overlooking the power plant and high-voltage substation.
•    Method: Installation of 75 prestressed strands anchoring the rock backward.
•    Working load per strand: 63 tons.
•    Total applied force: 4,725 tons.

Role of Moshanir

•    Conducted engineering studies and supervised project execution.

Special Achievements

•    The stabilization of PC2 rock at Dez Dam is considered one of the most unique engineering projects for securing a large rock mass at the highest elevation of the dam’s right abutment.
•    Access to the rock was achieved using 140 tons of scaffolding with foundations and anchorage to adjacent rock formations.
