Technical Specifications

•    The project includes:
o    Two fixed substations at 33/132 kV (Karbala and Kufa)
o    Four substations at 11/33 kV (Qods, Al-Jami’ah, Maysan, and Al-Askari)
•    33/132 kV substations:
o    Four 132 kV line feeders
o    Three 33/132 kV transformer feeders with double busbar arrangement
o    Eleven 33 kV outgoing feeders
o    Three capacitor bank feeders
o    Three 0.4/33 kV transformer feeders
•    11/33 kV substations (each):
•    Two 33 kV cable line feeders
•    One bus coupler
•    Two 11/33 kV transformer feeders
•    Eight 11 kV outgoing feeders
•    Two 0.4/11 kV transformer feeders

Moshanir responsibility:

Moshanir was responsible for:
•    Preparation of tender documents
•    Organizing tenders and contracting with contractors
•    Design review
•    Site supervision
•    Oversight of provisional and final handover of substations

Key Achievements

•    Strengthened Iraq’s transmission and distribution infrastructure in Karbala and Najaf regions
•    Successful delivery of multiple substations with modern double busbar arrangements
•    Enhanced reliability and capacity of the Iraqi power grid through international cooperation
