Shahid Mohammad Montazeri Power Plant – Concrete Fuel Storage Tank

Technical Specifications

•    Underground concrete fuel storage tank for mazut (heavy fuel oil)
•    Capacity: 90,000 m³
•    Designed for emergency use, supplying fuel to two generating units or, when required, transferring fuel to the existing plant tanks

Moshanir Responsibility:

Moshanir provided engineering services and overall supervision, including design review and adaptation, supervision of domestic equipment manufacturing, project management and control, and site supervision.

Key Achievements

•    The project was considered as a strategic storage facility
•    Due to its underground design, special measures were implemented to prevent fuel leakage into the surrounding environment, including:
•    Use of geomembrane beneath the foundation and on the external face of the concrete walls
•    Application of sealing materials such as plaster and repair mortars on both internal and external surfaces of the tank walls
