Stage The dam was impounded in 2000. Power plant units were commissioned in 2002–2003, and final completion and minor works continued until 2010.

Technical Specifications

  • Constructed on the Karun River
  • Rockfill dam with a clay core
  • Height from foundation: 177 m
  • Equipped with 5 radial spillway gates, discharge capacity: 23,000 m³/s (PMF)
  • Power plant includes 4 turbine-generator units, each rated at 250 MW

Moshanir participated as a partner in providing all engineering services, including:

  • Identification stage
  • Phase I (conceptual design)
  • Phase II (basic design)
  • Phase III (detailed design and implementation support)
